The PFD team is growing!

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Me François Laplante, who joined the PFD Insurance group on July 7 and Me Marc Mancini, who joined the PFD Labour group on November 10. Both practice at our Saint-Jérôme office. Welcome!

Called to the Québec Bar in 2000, Me François Laplante earned a bachelor of laws from Université de Sherbrooke. He began his practice at a Montréal firm, focusing his career on insurance law and civil liability. He then went on to join the litigation service of a Montréal-based company in the construction law sector.

In July 2014, Me Laplante became a member of the team at Prévost Fortin D'Aoust. He works in the insurance law, construction law and civil liability sectors and represents the firm's clients in cases before various Québec jurisdictions.

He has acquired specific expertise in mandatory guarantee plans for residential buildings and advises contractors, condominium associations and new homebuyers involved in such disputes.

Since his admission to the Quebec Bar in 2010, Me Marc Mancini has always worked in the private sector. He focusses his practice in labour and employment law as well as in professional and disciplinary law.

Me Marc Mancini assists and advises employers in all aspects regarding employment and labour law. He specializes in individual and collective labour relations. He offers his clients all services relating to the management of their human resources department: legal advice, representation before all related employment tribunals, negotiations with respect to renewals of collective agreements, etc. His services are often called upon regarding mergers and acquisitions in order to advise his clients on all aspects related to employment and labour law issues.

Me Marc Mancini also possesses extensive expertise in occupational health and safety in terms of work injury claims in accordance with the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases as well as the rights and obligations under the Act respecting occupational health and safety.

He also has an acute practice regarding Quebec police workforce, with respect to labour relations and ethical conduct.

He also practices in professional and disciplinary law.

He is often called upon to give training sessions and conferences with respect to employment and labour law and has published several articles and books in his respected field. He also teaches labour relations for police organizations at l'École nationale de police and human resources management at le Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe.
