Me Jean-Philippe Desabrais graduated from HEC Montréal in 2007 and from Université de Montréal in 2010, when he joined Prévost Fortin D'Aoust as a law student. He articled at the firm and began his practice in 2011, when he was called to the Québec Bar.
Within PFD Real Estate, he focused his career on construction law and commercial litigation. He advises general and trade contractors, subcontractors and materials suppliers and represents them before all courts of law, specifically in matters related to construction defects, the rules of the Bureau des soumissions déposées du Québec (BSDQ) and Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) violations.
Actively involved in his community, Me Desabrais is the President of the board of directors of the Thérèse-de Blainville Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCITB) since 2018 and a member of this board of directors since 2015. On this basis, he was director of the Les Bâtisseurs committee (television program broadcast on MaTV). In addition, he has been on the board of directors of the Laurentides-Lanaudière Young Bar Association since 2016 and represents the Young Bar on the Liaison Committee of the Court of Québec at the Saint-Jérôme Courthouse.
Since 2017, he is also the representative of the Laurentides Lanaudière Bar on the National Small Claims Table.
He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association des Jeunes Barreaux de Region in 2016-2017.
Between 2016 and 2018, he was a member of the Board of Directors of RestoPop Thérèse de Blainville.
Finally, between 2014 and 2016, Me Desabrais served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers and Big Sisters at the Porte du Nord.
